It seems that prior to the app the moonboard was much more sandbagged, the original grades tend to be all over the place but once the consensus grades start adding up you get a better idea of how hard a problem is. I tend not to care too much about the grade discrepancy as it's not that hard for me to find hard problems to work and in the end I'm simply looking for hard movement whether it's a sandbagged V4 or a super soft V9.

There is a way to sort problems by "benchmark" on the app which seems to return three problems at each grade.
Anyone know who determines or how it is determined which problems are "benchmarks?"
For some reason I feel more confident/motivated moving up to problems of the next grade after hitting the benchmarks and the problems set by Ben Moon himself.

My buddy and I are guessing that Ben Moon just picks them... There really aren't that many benchmark problems, hence our guess.
I don't look at the grades as anything more than a rough guideline. For example, there are a few V7s that I do towards the end of my warm up circuit and a V7 that is a part of my limit bouldering routine (it's harder than V7). It'd be nice if grades could be edited in the app
