Hi climbers, I have developed an Android app specifically for hangboard workouts and other climbing exercises. The app is now available in the Google Play Store: Climbing Training Timer. A trial version can be downloaded for free (ad free)! In the app you can customize the number of Exercises, Sets and Reps for your hangboard workout, and select the amount of time for Work, Rest and Breaks (rest between sets). For convenience, the app includes the beginner/moderate/advanced workouts as described in the RCTM (with permission from Mark Anderson, thanks again for that!). I designed the app to have very clear visuals and sound feedback, such that you can easily use it in the gym. The app can also show hand grips (suggested by the RCTM) during the breaks of the training. The app has a full screen option to clearly see the time, has sound and vibration (both optional) feedback for timer start/end, and automatically pauses when you receive a phonecall. The other timers in the app are useful for for example timing a rest period during campusboarding, doing rounds of bouldering, timing your ARC training, and performing general fitness exercises (core muscles training). Since I spent quite some time in the development of this app, the full version will costs $/€ 0.99. The app does not contain advertisements, and a trial version to test the full functionality can be downloaded for free. I hope you will like it, please review the app on Google Play, or leave a message in this topic. Happy training!

I just bught the app and think it is realy great. Just what i was looking for. The only thing i dont like is the sound. I think there should be different sound for starting the Rest und starting the hang (like for example in the beastmaker app). Right now both is the same sound and that can be confusing if you can only rely on sound and not look at your phone. It woud be great if you can change that. But a really great app anyway.

I've been using the app for a full month now. 3 weeks of base training and just finished my second beginner HB workout. Even for something as simple as ARC'ing it's much better than just using a plain timer. And more importantly, for the HB workout, even though I'm only doing the beginner plan, I don't have to worry about anything but holding on to the hangboard. I just look forward scream, grunt and sometimes cry until I hear the beep. Thanks!

Thanks Peter for contributing the Android timer.
I have an iPhone and use another customizable timer for my hangboarding called "Seconds." It's free for the basic version but you can't save your timers. If you pay the $5, and get pro you can save them. I'm happy to send anyone my saved timers if they have the application. I also use it to make me behave and actually stretch out my arms after hangboarding and campusing. It's really nice- I just press the timer and then obey what it tells me to do. It takes about 7 minutes and goes through all the essential stretches listed in the book. I've found I'm much more likely to stretch if I have some sort of automated process guiding me through it. These customizable timers are really useful for other body weight exercises too I've found. I do lock offs on my gymnastic rings with the same thing.
