Hi there climbers of the world! I just wanted to say that I started my training program by ARCing. While this phase may be optional, I really recommend it for those (like me) that had little endurance while climbing. I was good at short routes, however in long routes I was failing because I didn´t have enough endurance and I couldn´t do even simple and easy movements when I got my arms pumping. I´ve been ARCing for 5 weeks now, and the results are quite good. I have been able to redpoint "impossible" routes for me just before starting ARCing. I have to say that ARCing at the gym is a bit boring and you see many people "enjoying" of their training, bouldering, climbing, etc while you just do 20-30 minutes sessions of easy stuff that allows you keep on doing it. However, it´s really worth it. It really makes a difference with long routes, and your confidence increases a lot

That is great! ARCing can become a great source of strength when faced by longer routes, or extended challenges on routes. I feel it can make you so much more resourceful and persistent. I went bouldering today outside a bit, but came back to the Dojo and did a 25 min ARC session and I am so glad that I did because I just kept making it through moves even though my skin hurt and I was fatigued. A big lesson of ARCing seems to be figuring out how to respond to the adversity of the pump, and instead of giving up, finding solutions.

Yes, that´s a perfect definition of what you get by ARCing, cause you get the pump and instead of getting afraid and surrender you just calm down, shake a bit, and continue
