Hi there,
My name is Jaime and I'm from Barcelona, Spain but currently live in Canmore, Alberta.
I've been climbing for 9 years and gone in and out of shape, until 4 years ago when I decided I really wanted to improve. Since then I went from climbing 1 7b to climbing 3 7cs and 1 7c+, onsighting/ flashing 7a+ and 7b consistently and 1 7b+. My fingers have always been my strongest point but I struggle to move dynamically so I have to work really hard on bouldering and other facets of strength and power.
After turning 30 and failing to climb 8a multiple times I've decided my training needs to be way more structured and started looking for more guidance.
I've always trained and loved reading about training but my easily distracted personality has me trying the next best thing as a miracle for my training, and thus never sticking to any training program for long enough
Just joined this forum after grabbing a copy of the Rock Climber's Training Manual at the library and listening to the Training Beta episodes with Mike and Mark.
Needless to say it got me super psyched to train and to improve, but also want to learn more to coach others as I'll be working at a climbing gym this winter and really thrive on helping other people improve.
I really hope to connect with some like minded folks to learn and share thoughts about training and improving at this incredible sport.
See you around here!

Cool. Forum is less active than it used to be, but I think the RP approach to training really focuses on sticking to the same thing for a while. I'm a big proponent of that - I think most people change routines too quickly at the first sign of a 'plateau'.

Hey Jaime,
Phil from Seattle WA here. I just joined too! I actually bought the RCTM many years ago, but I brought it back from the closet now that I have finally graduated from grad school. Super psyched to get back in the game, and right now I'm refining my 7/3 repeater hangboard setup (Chapter 6). I actually noticed that the hangboard sheet on page 112 is not actually available for download on the RCTM website, so I just made my own just now. Lemme know if you need a copy of the pdf. Glad you joined the crew!

Thanks everyone! I actually use a lot of the workouts on the Crimpd app. It makes it really easy to follow and I can track it easly on the app. With that and the book I think I can make my own training plan. I've been mostly doing max hangs at 90% and repeaters 7/3 at 80%. My fingerstrength is not a limiting factor tho, so I focus a lot of my time on bouldering, strength and power.

So exactly how are you combining both RCTM and Crimpd? Are you using the periodization idea of RCTM with the actual workouts of Crimpd?
