I need some help trying to decide what angle and kicker length I should go with for a garage climbing wall. Our ceiling is at or slightly below 9.5ft high. I would like the main climbing surface to be 10ft. I would prefer a less than 40 degree wall because I rarely climb on anything that steep and my wife is a beginner climber. I’d prefer closer to 30 degrees but I don’t think I can get there with a kicker. Should I forgo the kicker so I can have a less step wall or would it be better to go slightly steeper and maybe have a 6 inch kicker?
The intended purpose for the wall is to have a spray wall/wall to create my own problems. It’s more for casual fun climbing rather than hard training. Thanks for any input!

A kicker is nice but not essential... I would go for less steep and more climbing surface personally. You probably already know what you're going to do and you're just asking for confirmation (no problem with that, I do it all the time). Follow your intuition!

I have a 14" kicker on all my walls and it's nice. Essential? Probably not.

I like having a kicker personally. Doesn't have to be big - I had a 17cm kicker on my first board. I like 30 degrees, it's a good angle, my dream room is a 30 degree, Moonboard, and a 15 degree board.
