I've seen an improvement in my recovery after adding breathing exercises to activate my parasympathetic nervous system into my daily routine.
I'm wondering what experiences the rest of you have with using breathing techniques to improve rest or maybe even performance?

I think one of the hardest components is getting used to breathing while your core is under tension. This exercise helps with that (read the video description for an explanation).
As a side note, when I'm belaying and notice my partner isn't breathing through a crux, instead of shouting "Remember to breathe!", I like to take a few (audible) deep breaths myself. Then, maybe 80% of the time, the climber will subconsciously hear that and start breathing deeply themselves. I think it's a cool way to give feedback without diverting 100% of the climber's attention to it.

I try to keep my breathing audible and loud... eventually, it becomes a habit.
