Can someone help me understand the rationale behind the order of the phases a little better. (Base>Strength>Power>Power Endurance).
I basically have three main questions.
1. The base phase obviously serves a variety of functions, but my understanding is that one main purpose is to build up aerobic endurance as related to climbing. However, is it accurate that endurance can be gained and lost more quickly than some other adaptations? And if so, does it make sense to keep up endurance training until you get closer to a performance phase, possibly until it is replaced by the Power Endurance training?
2. Strength training is also quite foundational to climbing, and so would it make sense to combine strength training while still in the base phase?
3. Is power also gained and lost quickly, perhaps the most quickly of all the adaptations? I'm trying to understand why it is placed before power endurance, and/or if it makes sense to continue power training also through the PE phase, at least on a maintenance level.
Thanks

There is a graph somewhere in the book, how the phases bleed into each other, and add up to performance phase.
