Do any of you already have experience with the new Pivot hangboard? The design is, of course, very innovative and I would imagine that everyone who is looking to take their own board to the gym will choose the Pivot. Also, the new pinch grip as well as the gastons seem to make a lot of sense. Any ideas on how to do that with the Pivot? Also, I was wondering how all the “standard” holds on the Pivot compare to those on the RCTC and the Forge. Is the Pivot a step up in difficulty?

I am deciding between the pivot and the original board right now.

Hey John, I know this is a bit late. I love the shim system being used for the RPTC and Forge. I have the RPTC and the Pivot. I find the pivot to be a step up in difficulty as well as overall more versatile for training. The holds are all on the more shallow side compared to the RPTC. "Standard" may be difficult to define. I find that the entire system is fully intended to be rotated throughout a workout. The cleat system used is similar to the 45 degree miter shown in one of the photos in the link. I reached out to find out if the cleat system is being sold as a stand alone option to modify my RPTC as well. As of yet, it isn't but Trango said it may be in the future. Training with this is more difficult than the RPTC so I offset my weight with a pulley system for some of the more challenging holds. I find that the muscles used for Gastons and pinch strength are severely neglected on my part and I intend to change that with the RP Pivot. I hope this helps.
