In periodization you lose your gains at the end of the preformance phase, so when you come back to certain phases in the next cycle you won't be where you were at the end of the last phase in your previous cycle. About how much do you guys find you usually lose, and how long does it take to come back to the previous level? Should you start off at 50-70% of your previous cycle or is it best to just feel it out? I took a long break from training and (stupidly) tried to come back just as hard as I had been doing. I did terrible! Thanks!

I usually start 5 lbs higher than my previous HB season's starting point.

Pretty much the same here. On the first workout, I usually drop ~35-40 lbs from each grip from the previous season's final workout, then adjust as needed. That equates to a 5-10 lb increase over the previous season's starting weights, assuming 10 workouts/season and ~5 lb increase between workouts. Also, you may find the graph in this blog post helpful.
