Hey RCTM community! I am on my 3rd season and the rock prodigy method has not only changed my climbing ability but my general fitness level is well above what I have ever experienced. needles to say I’m stoked. As with many on this forum life is getting in the way of my (climbing) life... I guess that’s why I started training in the first place. It’s been a wild ride but here I am with a new baby, wife who is a saint and let’s me climb and train whenever possible (I missed only two workout through the whole newborn process and made them both up climbing really early or really late and depriving myself of sleep more than I already was) o yah and a pesky full time job. In order to try to move some of my training to my rental house I want to build a home wall. I have about 8.5 feet tall and 8 feet wide of garage space to use. Here are my few thoughts. I was hoping some of you could lend some direction/ advice/ thoughts of your own.
1. Build the short(10 ft.) version of the tension board at 30* 2. Build the short and skinny tension board (10 x 5) and maybe a campus board. 3. build a bouldering wall or system/ boulder wall ( w/ or w/ out a campus board) that is the above size and maybe more versatile in shape?
The tension board seams great for a few reasons... problems already exist and I’m not that creative and the ability for system training. My concern though is I have never been on one and I’m not sure I’m going to getting all of what I’m looking for out of it. Not to mention the price. Also I am flashing v4-5 and rp v6-7 if that is useful info. I guess my main question is what is the best option for limited space and gains in power and in your opinion?

If it was me I’d probably use the space for a small woody. Make it one angle, something like 30-40 degrees, keep it simple. You could get great power and PE workouts on it. A campus board isn’t as versatile and won’t be as worthwhile with that ceiling height, and you can always build one in a much smaller space if you want (I have one 16 inches wide in my closet).
