Anyone do active rest during your power phase? My fiance is out of town and I'm tempted to do a really light swim session at the gym. I did a campus workout two days ago and am planning on a limit bouldering session tomorrow.

I doubt it will help your limit boulder session, but I suppose it depends on how hard you swim. In the summer we spend a lot of time playing with the kids at the local pool and it doesn't affect (effect?) my workouts, but I'm not swimming laps.
I live a pretty active life, and almost everything I like to do for fun involves being active, but I'm learning that I have the most energy for training for climbing when I'm just training for climbing. As much as I'd like to, I don't run or swim to "rest". The closest I'll come to that is the very rare bike ride with my wife for a date.

Well it was a good experiment. I did about an hour of break dancing. I've been breakdancing on and off since middle school (now i'm 35) but i've had to hold off on breaking this year since i've had major elbow tendonitis from weighted pullups and lock offs. Then I only lasted about 10 min lap swimming before calling it a day. I hadn't swam in a few months or danced in a few months so today my body is really sore. What's worse is my back. I'll try the limit session tonight just not expecting much. Thanks for the reply
