Anyone train trango rock prodigy hangboard overhanging? I train on a blank slate with hangboard setup. At first I was training at no angle but as I started to add weight to the pulley over time the bar adjusted itself to the most extreme angle. I've been training at this angle ever since.

My board is mounted on a slightly overhanging wall in my gym, and I suspect it might make it a little harder to use, but also a little more comfortable, as it increases the draft of the edges. The angle is very slight and since it does not change I just take it as a natural feature of my set up. Sort of like the humidity!

I agree with Ted, that a slightly overhanging hangboard is probably an improvement if anything, as long as the angle is consistent between workouts.

I used the blank slate doorway board a few times to keep up with my training on summer vacations. I drilled into the frame of the thing and put pins in it to keep the angles consistent. Pretty sure that would have voided anything resembling a warranty. I would agree with the others though; as long as your angles are consistent(ly overhanging) your data should be reliable.
I also semi-secretly installed a french cleat in my parents basement last time we went to visit...

Cool everyone thanks for the input! Yes the angle has been the same for the last two cycles. When I move back to san diego I know of a trango hangboard at a gym that's setup perfectly vertically. I'd like to try a hb cycle workout there and see if it's much easier.

Here's the angle the board is at. Not too much of an overhang.

Wow, the door holds you, and the weight plates! That's a strong door frame!

jcun,
I would move your pulleys to the horizontal bar to limit the leverage on the blank slate. The angle of pull won't be quite perfect, but it's worth it to reduce the risk of destroying your door frame, the blankslate, and hurting yourself during the explosion, haha.
