Has anyone thought about doing a HB phase with this grip order?
Index Finger Middle Finger Ring finger Pinky finger Pinch?
I know you would need to remove TONS of weight but in theory you would perfectly isolate each finger. You would only train 1 joint angle but it would be a cool experiment if you could figure out a way to do it effectively.

Yes, people have that about it.
Imagine a teeter totter. On one side, is "Isolation". On the other side is "Specificity". Discuss amongst yourselves....

In theory it seems that if you were someone who neglects the pinky it would be a great way to gain confidence in that finger's strength as well as others. I noticed on my last HB that I barely use my pinky on the closed crimp and that's the reason I train the mrp. So doing all monos takes that one step further.
So I think you could balance specificity and isolation by switching these to methods up from time to time. If anyone actually tried the all mono approach I would love to hear their opinion.

Unless you were training for the Wild Iris probably not a good idea. In other words, just train the grips you're planning on using. A more interesting (and conservative) experiment would be to do a pinky mono in your routine and see if it helps your crimp grip at all. I believe Mike Doyle mentioned doing something like that and having some success on the trainingbeta podcast.
