I did something unpleasant to the inside (medial) of my left knee a few weeks ago... The injury (I'm almost certain) was caused by heel hooking hard at around calf level. No pain during the movement, but later in the day it started to feel a bit off. The next morning I could barely walk, which had me really worried, but within a day it felt almost fine. Now I really only notice it if I heel hook, high step, or toe in hard off to my left (which will range from hurting a lot to feeling like "hmm, maybe that's bad for my knee"). Of course, I've been trying to avoid any movement that aggravates it. I haven't had it examined professionally (poor student), so I can't say exactly what is injured, but the MCL seems likely.
Anyways, has anyone here sustained a similar injury? How long did it take to recover/any specific rehab other than rest/ice etc?
