Even though the town that I live in is very small and there are not many females that climb consistently, I wanted to share a small win here that made me feel like I am making some quantifiable progress: Our local bouldering gym hosted a competition yesterday, where about 200+ people participated, and I won women's advanced division (got a trophy and 100 dollars in cash !!!!) The format was that you have to climb 10 problems, each of the problems is worth certain points, and then you sum up the score from your best ten problems. The three highest scores for recreational, intermediate and advanced go to finals (different final problems for each category) and the winner is the one who makes the most progress on the final problem.
Unfortunately, I didn't even try much to complete climbs that were close to my limit (I was trying not to waste most of my energy on a project). I decided to do 10 problems in the V5 range, which is a lot for me, since it means I climbed at least another 10-15 problems of lower grade to warmup and I ended up climbing for 4 hrs yesterday, at the end of which I was falling off of V3s!. But I did onsight a bunch of (gym) V5s, which felt pretty good.

That's awesome. Sounds like you applied the "Smarter, Not Harder" axiom to perfection!
