I don't think that Will goes into this in the article, but in an interview with him (maybe with Neely?), we makes the argument that weighted campusing is, for someone at a very high ability level, actually safer than unweighted campusing. He is operating in the ~V13 range, and with that level of power, in order to make campusing difficult you end up pushing into some fairly extreme joint angles, especially for the shoulder. By adding weight, he can achieve the needed training stimulus within a more comfortable range of motion.
Interesting idea, but most of us will never be strong enough for this to be an issue. So not really relevant to us chuffers.

I'll keep it in mind for once I'm cranking the Jan Hojer 1-9 campus move and starting to get a bit of elbow tendonitis...
