Hello everyone. I have been reading the forums for a while now (first macrocycle) and 3 sessions into my first HB workouts. Last night i did a light (1 grade under my ARC phase grade) ARC for about 10 minutes the day after my third HB session. I noticed by about the 3-4 minute mark that i was getting pretty pumped. Not severe, but definitely a deeper, but still manageable pump. During my ARC phase i didnt get to this level of pump until about the 10 minute mark. I understand that ARCing the day after isnt necessarily going to yeild the best results/feelings. I was wondering if anyone has noticed a decline in endurance during the strength phase? or is that supposed to happen in a way? I am just worried about losing all the endurance gains i had made. Also interested about how to progress next ARC cycle, as the 10s and 11s at my gym tend to use crimpy holds, which will make 20+ minutes quite challenging.
As a side note, and i know this may not be applicable, but i comfortably onsight 5.11 to 5.12 outside in both long enduro routes (both vert and overhang)[RRG, Rumney, Smith], as well as short bouldery routes [Rumney]. My ARC grade during the first phase was only about 5.8 (vert, to just over vert. large-ish holds). My gym tends to set with a heavy focus on footwork and technique, so big holds and big moves is out of the question. Any response is welcome. Cheers!

You only lose a portion of your endurance during the season. It will keep ratcheting up across seasons if you stick with it. Given your gym constraints you can modify how you use your feet to make the juggier routes harder, basically avoid the primary foothold locations on the holds to increase the challenge. Toe into the bolt holes if you need to.
The longer term solution is to build a home bouldering gym and set up the ideal ARC and PE endurance rigs to match your growing fitness.

The pump you're feeling early in your ARC set is probably just muscle fatigue from the previous day's HB workout.

Thanks guys! its really amazing to really feel the high highs and the low lows described in the book. Ive never really done a training regimen before, so I am filled with questions each day. This first macrocycle, my girlfriend and I are keeping it very low intensity (she is NOT one to train) to see feel out the program and find out exactly how to tailor the more intense cycle we will do over the winter. Shes got her eyes set on "Convicted" for next spring. Once again, thanks for the words of encouragement.
