I cant recall exactly where I read it/saw it, but a good exercise and warmup ive started utilizing is tying a theraband into a small loop. Sit down, and place the loop around your feet. Lie down flat on your back. Then, bend at the knee and begin to pull your knee up towards your chest (no hands). slowly return your foot back to the starting position, and do the other leg. Repeat.
The general idea is to build the resistance and strength to increase the strength and mobility of the muscles that allow for the high foot or high hand/foot match moves.
Recently, ive started incorporating that into bicycle crunches, with a blue theraband looped around my feet to get a double workout.
Maybe that will help you.
