Mike and Mark - thanks for the book, I'm psyched!
I'd like to be at a performance peak for a bouldering trip 16 weeks from now. If I follow the RCTM bouldering plan, I would start a cycle 6 weeks from now to hit week 10 at the trip. But then what's the best way to spend the next six weeks? 3 weeks of strength, 2 weeks of power, and a week of rest? Or something else entirely?
I've just finished 1 week of rest, 2 weeks of base and 1 hangboard workout because I was starting a cycle, but then the timing for my trip changed.
If it matters, I'm 37, been climbing 12 years, boulder v9. The last time I did some structured training was two years ago. A year ago I had bad elbow problems (climbing + bad keyboard ergonomics) and had to take 5 months off but I'm healthy now. I'm going to stay away from campusing, though.

Which Seasonal Training Plan are you following? With 16 weeks and a power-oriented goal, I would follow the STP shown in chapter 15 and try to squeeze in two cycles before your trip. You may need to truncate the first cycle, but you should have time for some solid strength and power training now and a more intensive second cycle to prepare for your trip.
