First timer here. Just started first macro cycle in Jan. Following the novice sched as much as possible but--- My schedule really only allows climbing on weekdays, so the strength phase sched of 1 on 2 off doesn't flow... Is the following reasonable:
Mon - HB Wed - light ARC Fri - HB
I'm putting the optional ARC in on Wed to get a third climbing day in. Or would it be better just to rest 3 days? Or better to put ARC on tues and take Wed Thur off?
Strength is definitely my weakness... But I certainly can benefit from mileage and skill work.
Being new to training rather than "just climbing" it's tough to contemplate only climbing 2 times a week if I just HB mon and fri....
Any thoughts?

I am also a novice when it comes to training, so take what I saw with a grain of salt...
Have you considered: Mon - HB Tue - Light ARC Wed - Rest Thu - HB Fri - Light ARC (maybe full ARC?) Sat - Rest Sun - Rest

How old are you Sean? I could see potentially doing HB on M, W and Fr if you're fairly young and injury free. But, I think your proposed schedule would work too. Travis' schedule could be good, assuming his Tuesday "Light ARC" is indeed light (or skipped on days when you're just not feeling rested). I would try a week of each schedule and see what you think works best.

Here's another datapoint for you.
During my strength phase: Sunday: HB Monday: Light ARC or nothing Wednesday: HB Friday: Light ARC (gotta take advantage of that gym membership!) Saturday: Climb outside.
Needless to say, Wednesday HB sessions tend to be much better than Sunday. If I couldn't control myself and went hard on Saturday, I will push the Sunday HB to Monday and the Wednesday HB to Thursday.

Thanks for the replies! 42 yrs old- so I definitely pay hyper attention to potential injury. Been climbing about 3 1/2 yrs- 3 days a week- and did have a partial A2 pulley rupture at 3 months in- but followed doc's orders and fulley recovered. Reasonably happy with my progress in the new found passion, but would like to move from RRG 11's into 12's in the next few years. I'll be super careful when starting the strength phase a week from now - but wondered if a 3 day rest is too much rest. (counting light arc as rest) I imagine not... But I also guess that there is some tipping point where a rest period would be too long...??
