I've tried a bunch of different powders over the years but I've stuck with Pro Jym protein www.bodybuilding.com/store/jym/pro-jym.html for a couple seasons now. I like that in consists of multiple different protein sources that are digested at different rates of absorption Basically, I go onto bodybuidling.com and scroll through the highest ranked stuff and then test them out how many bodybuilding.com shirts/shaker cups/etc have you amassed? i always get the white t-shirts to use as disposable climbing shirts. i also have shaker cups at both offices, home, camping tupperware, etc. we always buy the optimum nutrition whey protein, it's usually fairly well priced.

damn dude, judging by your photo your guns to weight ratio looks pretty good! i'm around 6'2 and some times i blimp up to 165 or so, and my forearms look nothing like yours. doh! So, to add on, has anyone done the "InBody," the electro-impedence measurement? That one put me at 7.5%, but interestingly, it also breaks down the limbs by weight (well, non-skeletal mass, to be more specific). Arms were 9.5 lbs each Legs were 25 lbs each Core+noggin: ~70 lbs Which ended up with an NSM of like 140...ish. I'm sure I've remembered the last two numbers wrong, but the legs and arms are right. I got that measurement just moments after the Bodpod. I know the InBody is wrong, though, because at 7.5% you should see a six-pack!

You could be 7.5% and have it stored mostly right over your abs. That in combination with fairly underdeveloped abs (compared to most people with really low body fat) would put you at those numbers without seeing a 6 pack. You should see some definition at 7.5% for sure, but there's no guarentee that you'll have rock hard 6 pack abs. That usually takes a ton of ab workouts.

To do the drastic weight loss I have to basically starve myself (~800 calories per day--literally nothing but salad and tuna for days on end--ugh), and then use regular re-feeds to kickstart my frozen metabolism. It's psychologically agonizing, and surely unhealthy. Damn Mark! How did the performance phase go that season? I usually consume around 3000-3400 calories a day. Last season I attempted to drop weight quickly by cutting down to 2200 calories a day. I did lose 3 lbs that week but definitely at the cost of a lot of sanity and power. I'm opting for the slow and steady protocol this time around. But really though, how was that season?

I've done that for multiple seasons, and it goes fine, often great (mental anguish notwithstanding). I used that approach the season I sent Breaking The Law in 5 goes, the season I sent Mission Impossible, and the season I did Beretta and Insurrection. However, typically ~ once per season, during the Power Phase (when I'm dieting the "hardest") I will have a lost workout. Basically I just feel weak and/or light-headed, clearly a result of malnourishment. Sometimes I'm able to recover during the workout by eating an energy bar and/or drinking caffeine, sometimes not.
