Rock Prodigy Forge?!?!?!!! WTF Anderson brothers?!? Now I'm going to have to buy one of THOSE in every color to match my collection of RPTC's! Maybe I could just not buy groceries for a month...

Good brothers Anderson -- any chance you can provide a comparison of the specs between v1 and v2 (i.e. depths of various rails, significant differences, etc.)? I assume this is coming, but you know, we're all a bunch of super training dorks who get absurdly stoked about stuff like this and can't wait for you to write a blog post about it.

I was thinking more training NERD than training DORK...

Ya, "nerd" is way more classy.
So ya...surprise!!! Either Mike or I will be writing a blog post about it shortly. We will include all the nerd information you could ever want, and then probably some more info about our emotional state throughout the process on top of that. I'm starting a new HB cycle tomorrow morning, which will be my first opportunity to really use the Forge.

Hello Mark, is there any more info available about he new Forge? I was about to buy it, but now I am confused which one to get and dont want to buy both.. I will be using it mostly at home, i.e. will not be able to really worm up by doing some easy bouldering etc. Now climbing 12a and would like to progress to 13, is Forge good option? Thank you, Jan.

We will have a blog post which describes the Forge in excruciating detail. It should be posted today or tomorrow (on rockclimberstrainingmanual.com). That should help answer any questions, but if it doesn't please post any questions here.

The blog post describing the Forge is up here. Sorry for the delay, we received heavy editing from our friends at Trango that slowed the process down quite a bit.

I was pretty happy with my RPTC until I read that post. Now I want a Forge. Unfortunately my 1 bedroom apartment doesn't have the space so it'll have to wait.

Wow, the Forge is one complex and well thought out piece of hangboarding equipment... Didn't expect any less from you guys though!
It looks slightly wider than the RPTC? And therefore more important to have on an adjustable mount to ensure appropriate shoulder width across the grips maybe?
I still need to get a RPTC when I can save up the money for shipping fees, but the Forge looks awesome and will definitely be my next step after getting the RPTC.

Each Forge half is 13" wide, the RPTC halves are 12.25" wide, so yes, a bit wider but not by much.
Hopefully the Forge will be cheaper to ship, since it weighs significantly less than the RPTC.

Ah only very slightly wider then. That's good news, hopefully! Is there a full list of holds anywhere for the Forge, I couldn't see one?

Here are the holds (depths/widths for most of these can be found in the blog post):
Wide Pinch Med Pinch Narrow Pinch 30 deg Sloper (above pinch) 40 deg Sloper Big flat edge Slopey Crimp VDER Deep MR 2f Pocket Shallow MR 2f Pocket Closed Crimp 3f Pocket (designed for IMR, or a shallow IM and a deep IM. I also use one of the holes for my mono)
