I read on one of Mark's blog posts that lateral to front raises should be done with low weight. Just wondering if Mark or somebody could elaborate on what low weight means in this case. For example, would maxing out at 6-8 reps during strength phase and 3-5 reps during power phase be too much weight. I've always done at least 10 reps per set for this exercise and have been thinking about upping the weight and reducing the reps, but I don't know if that's dangerous for this exercise. How many reps are people doing, and are they giving it full effort?

I do 15 reps at 10lb per hand, then 12 reps at 15lb per hand. I’ve done more weight in the past but it tends to cause trouble over time, so over the last few years I’ve stuck to the 10-15lb sets and used it more as a pre-hab exercise rather than a classic strength-building exercise.

Thanks Mark, that’s really close to what I’ve been doing. So I take it that was enough reps/resistance to prep your shoulders for pushing max ladders on the campus board? Also would you mind sharing what reps/resistance you were/are doing with the shoulder press? It’s nice to have those reference points even though I think I’m a little bigger than you.
