This has been an issue I've dealt with every training cycle I've had. I work a job that doesn't always allow me to fully plan 3 months out. So, while I try to plan my training around my best guesses all three training cycles I've done (or am doing) have ended up with me taking my "big" trip slightly out of peak.
My next trip to Hueco Tanks is scheduled and falls on the 6th week after my power phase. Currently I'm about to do my 7th hangboard workout tomorrow and am trying to decide what the ideal solution is. Should I cut my hangboard workouts short do one month on power then go back to hang boarding and start my cycle from scratch? Alternatively, should I add a mini-cycle (NLP) on after power or power endurance to maintain peak performance?
Goals in Hueco include the wanker 101 (last day fun) and climbing some classic lines including See Spot Run (first and second day goals).
I've only gotten to climb outdoors three times this year with maybe a 4th insight. Since this Hueco trip is probably going to be my only big trip of 2015 I would really like to make it count.
Thanks

A quick update:
The original training plan has me on my 8th hangboard workout of 9 tomorrow. After the 9th hangboard workout I have scheduled a 4 week power phase (slightly extended to push my peaking closer to the original trip date). I would move into PE phase around the 20th of December which puts me peaking late December early January.
Looking at a calander, I could switch tomorrow's hangboard to a campus session do two weeks of power. Following this power phase, I could go straight into a new hangboard phase 4 weeks long followed by a 3 week power phase. This gives me one week of PE in before the trip. Does this sound like a reasonable substitution (superior to a micro-cycle at the end of my current plan)? After the trip I would take my rest phase.

I probably wouldn't bother with the PE if you're just going to Hueco (unless you have some really long traverses in mind). Even See Spot Run, which is tall, only has a couple hard moves which are close to the ground.
Also, if you're going to go HB into Power back into HBing, you definitely won't need a full 4-week HB cycle. You'll be back to your best in 3-5 workouts no problem. Here is what I would do: Finish up your HB cycle (you probably already have), complete a longer-than usual Power Phase with lots of bouldering, indoor or out depending on what you have access to. Think of this as practice for your Hueco trip. Take 3-5 days off, then start HBing again, doing a 2-3 week mini-phase, then go back into Power, with the goal of arriving at Hueco at the end of your third week of the 2nd Power Phase.
