Glad you like the book! That is a great question. Check out p.80 for an intro to "non linear periodization, and then page 195-6 for a recommended NLP training shcedule. I think the way to go for you is to use the 'classsic' rock prodigy approach to get into shape at the start of the comp season, and then transition to NLP to mainain your strength & power through the comp season.
