Hey guys,
I am just beginning the strength phase right now and have just purchased a trango hangboard and love it. I have been reading Mike's and Mark's blog for the last couple years so am super excited to see them continuing to provide not just great training info but also great training equipment. One thing I have always been curious about is what other people's workout results have been and how they progressed through the strength phase and any tweaks they make to the recommended workout. I am on my 3rd HB workout and have decided to follow the intermediate workout. I did have some HB experience but wanted to start smaller and work my way up. I was hoping we could use this thread to demonstrate how our workouts have been going and as a reference for what other climbers are able to do on the hangboard relative to their climbing grades. I understand that there will probably be some pretty wild variability in HB performance vs. climbing grade but I think it gives people a general idea of where they fall within a population and for HB beginners, a starting point on what weight to add/subtract for a workout. I will post my first couple workouts on here later tonight when I get home from work (im obviously extremely busy at work right now).
If you guys want to stick a particular format for how to post your HB workout I think that would be a great idea, I have seen people do a lot of different things but maybe let’s stick to something closer to what Mike has in the book. So if people want to post, their workout result, their current bouldering grade, route redpoints/onsights (and maybe crag) I think that would be a great start.
