Probably ought to do a new thread for each book.

Are we ready to start a new book thread yet? Any nominations for the next book? Statement would be convenient, as I'm already halfway through it

Whatever you pick, you have to give me time to order it. I won't order from Books-A-Million again though; took way too long to get The Push sent out to me.

Seems like Statement is next in line. I won't be able to start it for a couple weeks though, I'm already into a couple other books. Chris, go ahead and order it and we'll start when you're ready.

Yeah, all good. I could do with a re-read of the early chapters and a bit of analysis along-side. I think based on our discussion here I got more out of reading The Push than if I had just read it on my own.

Got my book! Rock and Snow (the Gunks' version of Waterstone Outdoors) had a copy in stock. I ordered it late on the 28th and asked them to ship it to me via UPS. They packed it up early on the 29th and it came today. Big difference from Books-A-Million and the US Postal Service! Way to go Rock and Snow!
Anyway, I'll start whenever you guys are ready.

Great news! Santa brought me “With Winning in Mind!” Apparently he lurks he periodically, so remember not to be naughty and always be nice!

Great news! Santa brought me “With Winning in Mind!” Apparently he lurks he periodically, so remember not to be naughty and always be nice! Awesome - I just placed my order on Amazon. Unfortunately this one is an international book for me, and shipping arrival is 9-15th of January. As per other comment, might be a little struggle for me to keep up at the moment, as balancing researching Aussie climbers for podcasts - and getting through all those books you recommended, to give me a better grounding in the climbing history.

Excellent. I need to re-read it and outline it.

Thanks! That was supposed to be my Christmas Card picture, but I wasn't able to get one done this year. That was taken down at the bottom of the Fern ladders on Endless Wall at the New River Gorge in November. My plan was to make getting up and down the ladders the objective for the kids and let them climb through the rocks at the bottom. They loved it, but it was a bit cold for the youngest two so we didn't stay too long. By the spring, Gabriel will have grown out of his morning nap, so hopefully we can have a little lunch down there and explore more.

Bummer. Never mind then.
Do we want to do another book? Seems like I managed to kill the "With Winning In Mind" thread with my insane mega-post.
If so, I propose one of:
-Beyond Limits, Steve McClure -The Mountain Within, Alex Huber -A Life in the Vertical, Tillman Hepp, about Wolgang Gullich
