Just tried to get a LBC workout in at my local bouldering gym. They just had a competition over the weekend so the new set SUCKS!!! Most of the problems have really weird movement, big holds, a lot of campusing and dynos. There was only one place that I could piece together a LBC, but the intensity of it was not great. Really excited to someday be able to have my own wall to put my own LBCs together.

That is a bummer- I am surprised that more gyms don't keep a woody style bouldering wall up all the time so that people can use the gym for effective training, regardless of the changeover in the entertainment problems.
The reality is that most gyms need to cater to the masses, but perhaps your town is large enough for a bouldering / training coop to form? We are working on that in our small college town, and I think the key is to start small and try to build up both capital and mind share for a while, and then find a suitable venue.
What currently stands in the way of a home wall? Suitable space?

What currently stands in the way of a home wall? Suitable space? Not enough unused pace + the fact that we will be moving at the beginning of the summer. Hopefully then I will be checking back in with suggestions for developing a training space.
