2 kids to one dad, that is really outnumbered by 4 to 1! Good luck!

I assume this is the mad rush to bolt CCC projects before the FHRC fiasco kicks in? How's that coming along?
I imagine that the deadline changes the bolting/development process a bit. You can clean/prep/suss the routes later...right now you just need to get those bolts in!

It doesn't count as babysitting if they are your own kids. Granted, mostly sour grapes because I'm working tonight Pet store = Free zoo Chick-fil-a = good meal + indoor playground Family movie night + snacks = Dada rest time Lights out + pajamas + glow sticks = fun bedtime Turning door locks to outside of kids rooms + earplugs = peace

You can clean/prep/suss the routes later...right now you just need to get those bolts in! I've bolted literally 27 routes since November 19th (the day the draft climbing management plan was released). And yes, I'm pretty much strictly bolting. I'm not bringing brushes with me, but I've been using my hammer to clear away any big chunks of loose rock. The biggest issue is the ridiculous snow we've had. The north-facing slopes have a good foot of snow with drifts up to 2-3 feet in places. I'm in full alpine kit the entire time, which complicates things somewhat. It's pretty ironic--the most alpine/adventurous thing I've done in years turns out to be rap-bolting sport routes

If you are watching the kids while your spouse is WORKING, it's not babysitting. If you're watching them while your wife is at the movies with her sister, it absolutely is babysitting. Pet store = Free zoo Chick-fil-a = good meal + indoor playground Family movie night + snacks = Dada rest time Lights out + pajamas + glow sticks = fun bedtime Turning door locks to outside of kids rooms + earplugs = peace You got some awesome ideas here, I may have to try these, especially flipping the locks

FYI, Star Wars was freakin AWESOME!!! Go see it. HB workout, on the other hand, sucked. Bolting was good, managed to run out of battery power before I ran out of daylight. Jury is still out on babysitting.

Star Wars was awesome. I saw it in Indiana and again in Malaysia. Good luck with the bolting. Hope to get out there someday to checkout your routes. Maybe this summer!

I am currently, quite literally, waiting for my wife to go into labor. Took her today to catch an afternoon showing of the new Star Wars film. Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I thought it was basically the same plot as Episode IV, only with a few new characters. Perhaps my expectations were too high since I spent much of my early childhood as either Han Solo or Luke Skywalker, complete with a light saber handle tucked into my belt (suspenders, pants, whatever).
I still really want a light saber....

Thanks guys! I've got to work out a sleeping strategy now. The nice thing about having two other little ones is that they will be able to make lots of daytime noise to help her recognize day from night.
