I just listened to the trainingbeta podcast and one of you guys said you listen to death metal to get psyched. Same here. Lately I've been blasting: Power Trip (specifically the first two songs on Manifest Decimation) Mammoth Grinder (shares a member with Power Trip, these Texas dudes know how to rip) Satyricon's "The Age of Nero" (the rest of the albums don't have that same good groove to get me psyched) early Obituary records (Cause of Death and Slowly We Rot)
What are yall's go to bands/records/songs?

Metal works really well for me too! At the moment I mostly spin Arch Enemy (War Eternal), At the Gates (At War With Reality), Soilwork (The Living Infinite & The Panic Broadcast) and The Haunted (Exit Wounds). And sometimes - shame on me - the latest Slipknot record has a few songs (AOV in particular) that get me psyched as well...

Metal makes my head hurt. Call me weird, but I was listening to Johnny Cash and Jerry Reed for my spring cycle. Need to put together a new soundtrack though.

Hi there,
I get really psyched with BRMC and the ACDC
Allah-Las make really stoked for long journeys and when you are waiting for a plane and stuff
I also like to listen jazz when I want kinda relaxed/philosophical/chill sesh

Cant do metal either these days. I mostly listen to Indie stuff when training but I also love Emancipators music for getting in the zone during HB sessions - the perfect mix of chilled and psyched! m.youtube.com/watch?v=tZ19GKwTuFY

I must be the only one who doesn't listen to music while hangboarding. I use the hang timer app from my phone and it beeps every second I'm hanging and has different tones for start and stop. I like to be able to hear that and since I keep my phone above my head and I can't see it while I'm hanging I need to be able to hear, thus, no music.

Luckily at the gym where I hangboard, there's a small ledge in front of me where I can place my phone so I can blast music and see the timer.
