I've got a route I'm working on that we don't know how hard it is? It's a new route so we don't know the grade. It is short, maybe like 25-30ft tall. The route is basically a v7 into v7/8 with no rest. At the overlap between the two sections there is a hold just big enough to chalk up quickly, but not rest and recover. To compound that, I don't have a great frame of reference. I have done 6 or 7 13a routes but have barely even tried anything harder. And those were relatively endurance oriented routes while this is short and bouldery.
Of course, the grade is largely irrelevant in the end since its a great route and a real challenge. But I can't help but think about it. What do you think? I'm thinking the grade will be 13b or 13c. Does that sound reasonable?
