I was listening to a power company podcast and Eva Lopez was talking about how she would implement neural training (max hangs) before structural training (repeaters) as part of a macro cycle so that the short term utilization gains could be used to training harder for hypertrophy. This was my understanding at least. While that sort of makes sense, it goes against every periodized plan I’ve ever seen, where you train strength before recruitment. She also mentioned hypertrophy taking 6-8 weeks, which is much longer than anyone typically trains it for, at least on this forum. Anyone have thoughts on this?
