Just completed my first workout and I feel like I got a good workout but now I have a few questions. Here was my workout,
The circuit was V6 up V3 down V5 up V4 down total 65 moves, my gym has tall bouldering walls. Average climbing time 2:45. 5 sets, failed on the fifth set at 44 moves.
Here is my question, in the book the longest sets mentioned are 40 moves long. Is there a loss of effectiveness if my circuits are longer than 40 moves? Should I make the next circuit shorter/harder so I am nearly failing at the 40th move? I am training for a trip to maple canyon so I am expecting long power endurance routes.

It depends on what you are training for. For Maple, what you are doing now (66 moves) is good.

Erick - did you have any shake out rests on this circuit at all?

That circuit did have rest holds but I tried really hard not to use them. I feel like it’s hard to have a circuit that long without holds you can shake on a little. But resting during the LBC will defeat the purpose. I’ve tried to make my LBCs shorter now so I really can’t rest at all. This ups the intensity quite a bit.
