Hey all, I’m building a small home wall and grabbing some work out equipment as well. I have a pull up/ dip bar and rings. I want to get some weights and have limited space. Was thinking about an adjustable dumbbell set like the one that bow flex makes (5-52 lb in one) or a small traditional barbell/dumbbell set like you can get at academy with the twist on plate locks. Either way the price is similar and the small sets with the barbell usually go to about 110 so same weight more or less. I like the ease of use small footprint(in my garage) of the adjustable dumbbells my question is a) would 52 dumbbells be enough weight in the long run? I am shoulder pressing with 45s currently but I’m not sure I will feel the need to dumbbell shoulder press with more than 52 even though I will be able too. I guess the real question is does a barbell add that much more value to my weight training potential?
