Hello, I injured my extensor tendon over the summer at my dip joint of my middle finger and didnt realize that was the problem until Nov 1st and have been in a splint for 4 weeks. I do some rubber band exercises with the fingers, but was wondering if it would be bad to do hang board rehab on good grips/large flat edges while in a DIP joint splint? My finger was swollen, often sore at the pip joint and i could feel the tendon pop at the pip joint when flexing the finger. Late October I finally stopped climbing and splinted it, the popping has gone away and swelling has gone away. The finger feels healthy but being 4 weeks into a difficult rest period ( I am a setter) I dont want to mess it up. The research I did led me to mallet finger and that treatment seems to be working, it calls for 8 weeks with a splinted dip(cant come out of splint at all).... I was hoping 6weeks would do it. My finger was not as severe as a mallet finger injury, but similar extensor tendons may have been injured. Any way I am not sure if anyone has had experience with extensor tendon injuries, but I would greatly appreciate some input.
