Im trying to plan a trip south from British Columbia to avoid the dreaded shoulder season, to cold to climb, not enough snow to ski. My wife is less keen on climbing than I am these days, so I need to find an area that has some other fun things to do in early November. Red Rocks is probably out, I can't convince her to camp in the BLM shithole anymore and staying in Vegas is probably a no go as well. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I like the idea, but last time we went there it rained for a week and we got hammered by bedbugs at a local motel. Those are not the kind of things a woman forgets.....

Don't stay in a motel. VRBO or Air BnB, there are lots of cheap vacation condos in St George. Full kitchen, usually a pool, hot tub, gym, etc. And if its raining in St George, its raining everywhere.

Smith, Bishop or Jtree are pretty standard options during that time of year. What type of climbing you looking to do? What does your wife want to do with her free time?

I'm keen for any sort of roped climbing but usually when traveling I'm looking for crack climbing, as there is a shortage of good cracks in my home areas. This season I have been spending a bit more time sport climbing so that would be good to. Mainly my wife likes to spend her time doing outdoor sort of things, hiking or cycling. Music and culture are good to, but large city's are probably hard for me to sell.
