Has anyone out there had success mounting their RPTC in a way that looks "good"? I don't really care, but my wife and I just built a spare room, which we had agreed would be the workout room. She is now expressing concerns about the appearance of the hangboard and mounting hardware/rails. Any suggestions or photos?

Nice piece of wood. French cleat on that. Sand it smooth. Make it look pretty.

Sounds like you need a new wife ha ha ha.
Failing that the above suggestion is good. Get a nice picture to put up when not training...

Those all sound like good suggestions, but getting a new wife might be a lot harder than making a nice piece of wood. I can buy the wood at the hardware store, where do you even shop for a new wife these days?

Pick up a Grindstone or Beastmaker.

My wife allowed me to mount the following setup in our upstairs (and designated) workout room: It’s mounted to a 2x12. The French cleats are made of 0.75” plywood strips cut at 45 degrees.

I'm not sure exactly what my wife had in mind but I managed to convince her to lower her standards. Again.
