Anyone know where I can find a heavy duty steel wall mount pull up bar online. I just need a few more components to finish my gym.

I have rings, but for some things I would prefer a standard rigid bar.

Erick, check out Rogue Fitness. There stuff can be a bit expensive, but it's all pretty bomber.

Ironically, I got my rings from Rogue Fitness.

Me too! I went for the plastic ones because I was afraid the kids would destroy the wooden ones. The rings are potentially the most popular feature in the barn with the kids. I finally broke down a few weeks ago and bought a second set so the kids could swing on one while I train with the other.

Ironically, I got my rings from Ro0gue Fitness. I was going to say that I would probably mount a bar with scraps of wood and metal plumbing piping straps from home depot but was embarrassed...

More ironically, I built a bar using iron pipes from Lowes, just to hang my rings and pulley (for assisted one-arm). I haven't pulled it out of the ceiling yet, so it must be ok. Initially, I bought a set of plastic rings and absolutely hated them. I ended up selling the plastic ones and getting a set of wooden ones.

Ya, I would say the wooden rings are plenty strong to hold up to kid abuse. I really like the wood texture, smooth but tacky.

Nothing wrong with that. My first pull up bar was an old piece of scrap pipe I screwed into the ceiling of my parents basement as a pre-teen. I screwed two eye bolts into the ceiling of the workshop, tied nylon cord around the bar an then ran the cord through the eye bolts. You had to make sure your head was between the floor joists when you pulled up, but you couldn't pull too far or your head would hit the nails coming through the floor. I would climb up on an old swivel chair to grab the bar.

That old swivel chair is still in the basement in my parents (new) home! I put my fan on it to do my hangboard workout when we visited them in the summer. I've come a long way since then...
